John Quick Elected To Serve As Chair Of The Dade County Community Relations Board

John Quick, partner at Weiss Serota Helfman Cole & Bierman has been elected to serve as Chair of the Dade County Community Relations Board. The board works to intervene and contain community tensions, relieve intergroup conflict before crises arise, build understanding and secure resources to respond in the event of a crisis. Prior to this, Quick served as First Vice Chair. He begins his term in June.

To be selected to a leadership role or as a board member, candidates must demonstrate their involvement in intergroup affairs, among other criteria. They must also be appointed by county commissioners and hold the chairmanship of other advisory boards.

Quick is involved in other positions dedicated to improving the Miami-Dade community. He was elected to the Miami-Dade Parks Foundation Board of Directors, where he works to help secure funding to preserve and promote parks and programming throughout the county. He is also the Past Chair of the 11th Judicial Circuit Historical Society, a long-time board member and Past President of the Friends of the Miami-Dade Public Library System and has received numerous awards for his commitment to the community.

Quick focuses on business, real estate, maritime, aviation and banking litigation, among others areas. He has experience with international litigation, including experience with Mexico, Italy, Norway and Switzerland, to name a few. Quick earned his B.A. from the University of California at Los Angeles and his J.D. from Boston University School of Law. He is admitted to The Florida Bar, the U.S. District Courts for the Middle, Southern and Northern Districts of Florida and the U.S. Courts of Appeals for the 1st, 5th, 9th and 11th Circuits.
