MCM Executive Alexis Leal to be Recognized as a 2018 Barry University Distinguished Alumni

Alexis Leal, COO of Munilla Construction Management (MCM), is among the seven recipients who will be honored for their outstanding achievements and contributions to society at the 2018 Barry University Distinguished Alumni Awards on Feb. 8, 2018 at the Coral Gables Country Club.

The Distinguished Alumni Awards honor members of the Barry community who exemplify the university’s core commitments of knowledge and truth; inclusive community; social justice; and collaborative service.

With more than 25 years of experience in the construction industry, Leal oversees the overall direction of MCM's Florida Building Group with a special emphasis on pre-construction, estimating and strategic growth. He focuses on leading his team to exceed customer satisfaction by concentrating his efforts on creating exceptional levels of communication, safety and quality.

Leal started working in construction as a general laborer when he was 17. Throughout his career, he has spent tours in field operations, accounting, pre-construction, estimating, purchasing, marketing, MIS, and risk management - all while developing the well-rounded and unique skill sets that have molded him into the executive he is today.

Active in his community and professional organizations, Leal has served on the Board of Directors of the Engineering Contractors Association of South Florida and served as its President. Her also served on the Board for the South Florida Association of General Contractors. He currently sits on the Board of Directors for the Broward County Chapter of the American Red Cross. He graduated from Barry University in 1993 with a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Management.
