Broward Health welcomes Jennifer S. Cohen as its Associate Vice President of Benefits and Wellness. She is responsible for the strategic planning, design and overall leadership of the health system’s employee benefits including health, wellness, retirement and employee assistance programs.

As an innovative leader in a key role, Jennifer is essential to our employee engagement efforts which will translate directly to our patient experience, quality and overall positive outcomes for our community,” said Peter Nyamora, EVP and Chief Human Resources Officer.

Cohen has extensive experience in employee benefits. She was most recently the Director of Benefits for Memorial Healthcare System. Prior to that she spent 10 years at the University of Miami as the Executive Director of HR-Benefits. At the University, she oversaw all aspects of benefits for faculty, staff and students and led the group that launched two onsite health and wellness clinics for employees.

Cohen is a former Chapter President of the International Society of Certified Employee Benefits Specialists’ South Florida Chapter, and served as an instructor for the University of Miami Division of Continuing and International Studies Human Resources Management Certificate Program.

Cohen earned bachelor’s degrees from both the University of Florida and Florida International University. She is a Certified Financial Planner and holds a Certified Employee Benefits Specialist designation.
