Real estate firm raises $22,000 for annual charity and University of Miami Sylvester Cancer Center
The Keyes Company raised $22,000 at its fourth annual Keyes Cares Walter Reyes Memorial Golf Tournament to benefit cancer research and support the Dolphins Cancer Challenge and University of Miami. The tournament was held at The Champion course at PGA National Resort & Spa in Palm Beach on October 26, 2017.
Organized by Keyes Chief Marketing Officer Paula Renaldo, 144 players and 160 attendees participated in the day’s festivities, which included a silent auction, raffles and dinner. Special attendees included former Miami Dolphins tight end and radio personality Troy Drayton and Keyes CEO Mike Pappas.
“Unfortunately, we all know someone who was impacted by this terrible disease,” said Mike Pappas, president and CEO at Keyes. “It’s always special to see our Keyes family come together for such a great cause.”
“It’s such an overwhelming feeling seeing everyone out here, enjoying themselves and being able to help raise money for cancer research” said Renaldo. “Every little bit helps when it comes to finding a cure.”
The Miami Dolphins launched the Dolphins Cancer Challenge as the signature initiative of the Miami Dolphins Foundation in 2010 and has since raised over $22.5 million. The annual initiative culminates in several bike races, a 5k run/walk and concert at Hard Rock Stadium. The next edition is scheduled for February 10, 2018.
The tournament, named for the late Keyes CFO and former DCC team captain Walter Reyes, is just one event the company hosts to raise money for the challenge over the past few years. Other recent Keyes Cares initiatives include a company-wide collection and service day in the Keys to benefit Hurricane Irma victims.
