Kick off Thanksgiving Day festivities with the 7th Annual Fort Lauderdale Turkey Trot beginning at D.C. Alexander Park on S.E. 5 Street and A1A in Fort Lauderdale at 7:30 a.m. on Thursday, November 23. Registration opens at6 a.m.
The 5K run/walk takes place along scenic A1A, Fort Lauderdale’s iconic beach road.Thanksgiving themed costumes are welcomed and encouraged.
The Turkey Trot benefits Leadership Broward, which provides premier leadership programs, services and initiatives that develop strong business and community leaders, as well as iTrace Foundation, Inc., a not-for-profit preventative health and wellness research foundation.
“The Turkey Trot is a Thanksgiving Day tradition in Fort Lauderdale,” said Andrew Zullo, executive director of Leadership Broward. “Not only does it give residents an opportunity to enjoy our beautiful beach, but participation means less guilt about indulging in turkey and fixings served later in the day.”
The cost of the 5K run/walk is $35 until Nov. 1; $40 from Nov. 1-19; $45 at packet pick up; and $50 on race day.
