The Junior League of Greater Fort Lauderdale will host its first annual Junior League JULE on Thursday, November 9, 2017 from 7-10pm. The theme of this year’s event will be an 80th Anniversary Celebration to recognize the longevity and impact of the Junior League of Greater Fort Lauderdale and its remarkable history of community service and legacy organizations. All proceeds will support the organization’s initiatives, which include human trafficking awareness and childhood fitness and nutrition.
“This special evening will be a magical night of memories and reminiscences, as we recall 80 years of wonderful work right here in Broward County,” said Jill Banaszak, president of the Junior League of Greater Fort Lauderdale. “We are looking forward to celebrating and honoring our past, and making new memories for the future.”
The Junior League of Greater Fort Lauderdale was founded in 1937 as the Fort Lauderdale Junior Service League. It was created to provide the community with willing volunteers in civic and child welfare work. It has evolved into a powerful agent of change in the community, and is an organization of women committed to promoting voluntarism, developing the potential of women, and improving the community through effective action.
Some of South Florida’s most renowned and respected non-profits were founded through the successful efforts of the Junior League of Greater Fort Lauderdale, including Jack and Jill Children’s Center, NSU Art Museum Fort Lauderdale, and the Museum of Discovery and Science.
“We look forward to welcoming back members who have made such an impact on South Florida, and to continuing the remarkable work they have achieved,” said Molly Rambach, event chair. “This evening will mark a significant milestone, combining our past and our present to look forward to the future.”
Conrad Fort Lauderdale Beach is located at 551 N. Fort Lauderdale Beach Blvd., Fort Lauderdale, FL 33304. Event tickets are $55 in advance and $65 at the door, and purchase includes the league’s Paradise Served cookbook.
