BBX Capital announced today that the grand opening of the first Florida MOD Pizza (MOD), located at7171 N. State Road 7, in the Shoppes of Parkland, will take place on Tuesday, October 24th at 12:00pm. In celebration of the store’s grand opening, MOD will be offering a free artisan-style pizza to the first 52 guests that attend. After that, 100 percent of all pizza sales on opening day will be donated to the Anthony Rizzo Family Foundation, a local South Florida non-profit founded by Chicago Cubs First Baseman and Parkland native Anthony Rizzo, which raises money for cancer research and provides support to children and their families battling the disease. BBX Capital is the exclusive franchisee of the MOD Pizza brand for the state of Florida.

“We are thrilled to open our first Florida MOD Pizza in Parkland and to introduce the community to a new way of enjoying pizza,” said Brick Kerge, Vice President of Operations for BBX’s MOD Pizza business in Florida. “Along with the incredible pizza, the MOD brand is a purpose led organization that is committed to making a positive impact on as many lives as possible, by offering well-paying jobs, career development opportunities, and partnering with local non-profits that support the community. We call it ‘Spreading MODness’ and are excited to bring it to Parkland!”

MOD’s individual, artisan-style pizzas are made on demand, using fresh-pressed dough and signature sauces. Customers create their own pizzas and salads, using any combination of over 30 featured toppings, or they can choose from a menu of MOD classics. The price always remains the same - $7.97 - regardless of the number of toppings. Pizzas are hand-cooked in an

800-degree oven in just minutes and salads are individually hand-tossed for each customer. The menu is rounded out with handspun milkshakes, house-made lemonades and iced teas, and local craft beers and wine.

The 2,400-square foot Parkland store will include a large outdoor patio, original artwork and hand painted mural by local South Florida artist Ruben Ubiera and MOD’s signature “Wall of Fame,” a photo collage that pays homage to the local community and people from the MOD journey. Hours of operation will be Monday thru Sunday from 10:30am to 10:00pm.

“While Parkland is our first MOD Pizza location in Florida, we are excited and ready to bring the original fast-casual pizza and its unique culture to the state,” said Jarett Levan, President of BBX Capital.
