Coldwell Banker Residential Real Estate Organizes Statewide and Nationwide Hurricane Relief Efforts

10/11/17

Nancy Klock Corey, regional vice president of Coldwell Banker Residential Real Estate’s Southeast region, led the forces of Coldwell Banker’s national network, as well as Coldwell Banker Residential Real Estate (CBRRE), to donate, ship, load, unload and sort supplies for victims of Hurricanes Irma and Maria.

CBRRE has 5,131 affiliated agents and nearly 80 offices in the state of Florida, and many of them contributed to the relief efforts.

The most recent event that CBRRE organized was collecting relief supplies for Hurricane Maria victims from across Coldwell Banker’s national network in conjunction with community efforts. Donations including bottled water, non-perishable food, monetary donations, diapers, paper goods, school supplies, batteries and flashlights were collected and stored in an office bay next to CBRRE’s Hollywood office on Sheridan Street, which is overseen by Branch Manager Donna Reid.

On Saturday, Oct. 7, volunteers from CBRRE’s offices in South Florida, as well as CBRRE Young Professionals Network (YPN), headed by Daniele Gordon, helped to load more than 25 tons of these relief donations into trucks, to be transported to Puerto Rico by plane for Hurricane Maria victims.

In addition, CBRRE organized donation collections from CBRRE affiliated agents and employees from the Florida Panhandle, Tampa, Sarasota and Orlando, to benefit victims of Hurricane Irma. The donations, including bottled water, paper towels, diapers, formula, dog food and flashlights, were transported to the Hollywood office, where volunteers from Coldwell Banker’s offices in Southeast Florida unloaded and sorted them on Friday, Sept. 22. The largest amount of water came from the Northwest Florida offices.

Some of CBRRE’s top associates, including Jill and Danny Hertzberg of The Jills®, as well as multiple managers from the 19 offices in the region, participated in the events.

Quotes:

“With both efforts, our associates, managers and staff truly came through to help those affected by Hurricanes Maria and Hurricane Irma,” said Corey. “Nationwide and statewide, we came together to make a difference. It is, without question, one of the most heartwarming events of my real estate career.”

“Giving back to those who need help is a priority for all of us at CBRRE,” said Clark Toole, president of CBRRE, Florida “I am so proud to lead an organization where so many willingly give their time and effort to help others, as well as give monetary donations. The Coldwell Banker Residential Real Estate CARES foundation has raised more than $4.2 million since 2001 for more than 525 nonprofit educational, health, welfare, environmental and cultural arts organizations in our communities.”
