Mocsari will lead the firm’s finance and accounting functions, along with corporate finance duties related to Validus’ current holdings and new investments.
Validus Group Partners and its affiliates’ core holdings include companies in the medical device, senior living, commercial real estate and financial services sectors. Mario Garcia, Jr. founded the company in 2004.
“We believe in hiring the best people, giving them the tools they need to succeed, and then letting them drive the growth of our firm,” said Garcia. “We are thrilled to have Richard on our team and look forward to leveraging his experience to support our long-term investment approach and our portfolio of companies.”
Mocsari brings 25 years of corporate finance experience to Validus and was formerly the CFO of GulfShore Bank, headquartered in Tampa, Florida.
During his six years at GulfShoreBank, Mocsari helped successfully raise both institutional private equity and local capital. The bank also achieved double-digit annual growth in assets, loans, and profits – leading to the successful sale of the company to Seacoast Bank in a transaction valued more than $70 million dollars upon closing in April 2017.
“I’m excited and honored to join this terrific team at Validus Group Partners,” said Mocsari. “I’ve admired the company and its leadership’s investment philosophy for years, coming to know them first hand as GulfShore Bank’s largest shareholder. I look forward to helping the team build successful business and create long term value across the portfolio.”
Prior to joining GulfShore, Mocsari served as CFO for Sembler Investments, as Principal in mergers & acquisitions for CLB Partners, and as a Vice President in Bank of America’s middle market banking group.
