Miami, Florida, Sept. 07, 2017 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- The Department of Homeland Security (DHS), Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA), on Thursday, September 7 released a combined synopsis/solicitation in which it outlined plans to acquire armed guard services in Florida, as a result of Hurricane Irma’s projected trajectory.
In its solicitation/synopsis, FEMA indicated that it will determine the place of performance once Hurricane Irma makes landfall, though the agency anticipates needing at least 30 armed guard services at multiple disaster recover center locations throughout Florida. Guards, according to the notice, will provide services 24 hours a day/7 days a week, at least at the start of the assignment.
FEMA invites interested and eligible contractors to respond to the solicitation with pricing information (per hour, for up to 4,000 hours), and also commit to providing services 24 hours after receiving an order and making these services available for 90 days, with an option to extend.
The associated North American Industrial Classification System (NAICS) code for this procurement is 561612 with a small business size standard of $20.50 million
For this solicitation, DHS Federal Emergency Management Agency intends to conduct an online competitive reverse auction to be facilitated by the third-party reverse auction provider, FedBid, Inc. (FedBid.com). FEMA, in the solicitation/synopsis said it is taking this action to improve vendor access and awareness of requests and the agency's ability to gather multiple, competed, real-time bids.
Responses are due by no later than 5 p.m. EST on Friday, September 8.
