Broward Health has announced the appointment of Gino R. Santorio, FACHE, MPA to chief operating officer (COO), effective September 25.

Santorio is an experienced hospital executive that has been serving Florida in healthcare management positions since 2008. Prior to joining Broward Health, he worked for Jackson Health System where he most recently held the position of senior vice president and CEO of Jackson North Medical Center. He has also served in the capacity of VP and COO of Jackson North Medical Center, VP and COO of Jackson Memorial Hospital, and COO and CFO/Hospital Compliance Officer of Spring Hill Regional Hospital.

“I look forward to working with the executive management team at Broward Health and am honored to have been brought on board to support the positive changes taking place there,” said Gino Santorio.

A fellow of the American College of Healthcare Executives (FACHE), a professional certification sponsored by the American College of Healthcare Executives (ACHE), Santorio has a master’s in public administration from the Rockefeller College of Public Affairs and Policy at the University of Albany in New York. He also earned a bachelor’s degree in business leadership from Le Moyne College in Syracuse, New York, where he graduated magna cum laude.
