2017 Profiles in Leadership Gala Honors Broward County Leaders

Dive right in to Leadership Broward’s Under the Sea-themed 2017 Profiles in Leadership Gala, hosted by Hyatt Regency Pier Sixty-Six, from 6:30 to 11 p.m. on Saturday, October 14th.

The annual Profiles in Leadership Gala honors business and community leaders in Broward County who have made a significant impact professionally and personally.

This year’s honorees are:

Allison and Andy Cagnetta: Andy Cagnetta is CEO of Transworld Business Advisors, the number one business brokerage in Florida, and international franchisor. Allison Cagnetta has been actively involved with United Way of Broward for the last 10 years as well as several other organizations. Together, they put on “Andy’s Family Pasta Dinner,” an annual benefit for LifeNet4Families, which provides food, services and referrals to Broward’s hungry and homeless. .

Gerald Greenspoon: Co-founder of Greenspoon Marder, P.A., which specializes in the areas of real estate development, resort and timeshare development, condominium conversions and finance and transactions, Greenspoon has contributed to the strong growth and prosperity of the law firm. Greenspoon is also an involved supporter of the South Florida community and is a part of various organizations such as Jewish Federation of Broward County, Junior Achievement South Florida and the Greater Fort Lauderdale Chamber of Commerce.

Dev Motwani: Motwani is President of Merrimac Ventures, a Fort Lauderdale-based real estate firm that focuses on value-add investment and development opportunities. He is also Founder and Managing Partner of Chieftain Residential, a yield-oriented distressed residential fund purchasing single-family homes and residential land, primarily in the Southeast U.S. and Texas. He plays an active role in the South Florida community, currently serving on the board of the Broward Center for the Performing Arts Foundation, Broward College Foundation, Orange Bowl Host Committee and the Crockett Foundation.

Philip Purcell: Purcell is CEO/President of the Marine Industries Association of South Florida (MIASF), a trade organization that promotes advocacy and professionalism on behalf of the marine industry, which provides an annual $11.5 billion to South Florida’s economy and supports 136,000 jobs regionally. Embracing other cultures and working in emerging markets has allowed Purcell to be engaged in the international marine business and implement collaborative processes to grow opportunities, research, and new ideas. His vision is to leverage his experience, knowledge, and personal relationships with industry and educational leaders for the betterment of the region.

Juliet Murphy Roulhac: As Regional Manager for Corporate External Affairs for Florida Power & Light Company (FPL), Roulhac manages governmental and community relations with elected officials and major stakeholders and develops regional strategies for FPL. She is a licensed attorney and has more than 25 years of complex business litigation and appellate experience. Also an active member of the South Florida community, Roulhac serves as Board Chair of Business for the Arts Broward and the Florida Bar Leadership Academy.

Leadership Broward Foundation also will present a Lifetime Achievement Award to community activist Lorraine Thomas, who has shown what a true philanthropist is by her dedication to the less fortunate and helping hundreds of children and families through financial support, generosity of time and experience.

The “Under the Sea 35th Coral Anniversary Black-Tie Ball,” is co-chaired by Brandon Hensler, Nova Southeastern University; Brenda Pagliaro, City Furniture; Cindy Schutt, Cindy Schutt PR; and Julie Spadavecchia, Bank of America. Andria Cunningham, Nova Southeastern University, serves on the Leadership Broward board of directors as Vice President of Special Events.

Tickets are $550 for Leadership Broward Foundation couples; $300 per person for Leadership Broward Foundation members; $350 per person for guests and non-members; and $200 for Emerge Broward members.
