Fisher Phillips Recognized by Working Mother magazine and Law360 as among the Best Law Firms for Women in 2017

7/26/17

Fisher Phillips announces today that the firm has been recognized for its strong dedication to the support and advancement of women by inclusion on both Working Mother magazine’s 2017 list of the 50 “Best Law Firms for Women” and Law360’s “Best Law Firms for Female Attorneys,” which both recognize U.S. firms implementing best practices in retaining and promoting women lawyers and fostering environments committed to achieving that success.

Working Mother magazine reaches more than 2 million readers and describes itself as the only national magazine for career-committed mothers. To be selected to this prestigious list, firms completed an extensive application in the areas of workforce profile, flexibility and development and retention of women. Working Mother worked in collaboration with the ABA Journal as a knowledge partner.

Law360’s Glass Ceiling Report includes 40 law firms that the publisher notes have an aggregate workforce that is more than 40 percent female. Fisher Phillips ranked fifth in the category for law firms with 300 to 599 attorneys.

“We’re honored by our selection to both of these highly-regarded lists and pleased to see that efforts such as our Women’s Initiative and Leadership Council (WILC) can be seen as an example among our peers,” said Danielle Moore, partner in the San Diego office and WILC co-chair.

Christine Howard, WILC co-chair and partner in the firm’s Tampa office, added, “while we continue to work on new initiatives and long-terms goals on recruitment, retention and leadership, we are pleased to see that firms, including ours, have had success in advancing women professionally and furthering goals that are of the utmost importance to WILC and to the firm. Any way in which we can bring attention to these important goals is a benefit to all members of the firm.”

Fisher Phillips’ WILC comprises attorneys and staff from the firm’s offices and focuses on recruiting, developing, mentoring and retaining women attorneys. The initiative aims to foster female leadership, both within and outside the firm, through a variety of programs and projects.
