7/19/17

The Junior League of Greater Fort Lauderdale (JLGFL) kicked off its 80th year in style.  More than 30 members attended the Junior League’s Happy Hour at Mellow Mushroom to commemorate the organization’s 80th anniversary.

“It is a wonderful and significant moment to share with these truly dedicated women and to carry on the legacy of the Junior League for the next 80 years,” said JLGFL President Jill Banaszak.  “We are proud of the remarkable accomplishments that Junior League has achieved in Broward County, and look forward to continuing the momentum and positive impact today, tomorrow and in the years to come.”

The Junior League of Greater Fort Lauderdale was established in 1937 to provide the community with willing volunteers in civic and child welfare work. Over its 80 year history, the organization has invested millions of dollars, matched by millions of volunteer hours, in improving the lives of our neighbors right here in Broward County. The Junior League of Greater Fort Lauderdale has founded several of Broward County's top charitable organizations, including Jack and Jill Children's Center, Kids in Distress, SOS Children's Village, Susan B. Anthony Recovery Center, and the Museum of Discovery and Science.

The milestone 80th year will be celebrated in numerous ways over the coming months.
