Miami Bridge Youth & Family Services hosted a summer BBQ on June 23rd to kick off the season. The event took place at Miami Bridge’s Miami Central Campus location and featured a barbeque buffet, inflatable bounce house, karaoke, face painting and balloon animal area, along with a special appearance from Miami Futbol Club mascot, Golazo. More than xx guests shared in the summer festivities alongside children and teens assisted by the organization’s support services and programs for youth in crisis.

After several weeks of rain, attendees enjoyed some sunshine while learning about the free services provided by Miami Bridge’s community partners. Organizations like Pridelines, Service Works, Miami-Dade County Public Schools, Coldwell Banker and Miami FC joined the festivities and provided adults and youth alike with important information about their local social services.               

“This summer’s barbeque allowed our loyal supporters to interact with Miami Bridge youth and staff on a personal level. Not only were attendees able to enjoy an afternoon of summertime fun, but they got a better glimpse of what Miami Bridge does for kids and teens in the community,” stated Dorcas Wilcox, CEO of Miami Bridge Youth & Family Services, Inc. 

During the event staff members conducted tours and allowed individuals who hadn’t previously visited Miami Bridge to get to know their facility. Miami Bridge works with all youth and specializes in rescuing kids and teens from lives of victimization and crime, providing them with structure in a stable and nurturing environment.
