Akerman LLP, a top 100 U.S. law firm serving clients across the Americas, today announced that Eric Gordon, chair of its Labor & Employment Practice Group, will be installed as president of the South Palm Beach County Bar Association (SPBCBA) on June 10, 2017 during the organization's 56th Annual Installation Gala at the Woodfield Country Club in Boca Raton, Fla. He will be sworn in by the Hon. Samantha Schosberg Feuer, Circuit Court Judge for Florida's 15th Judicial Circuit, and celebrated in company with the SPBCBA's 2017-2018 Officers and Board of Directors.
Gordon will serve as president for a 1-year term and work closely with the Board of Directors to fulfill the organization's mission: to foster a shared commitment to excellence in the law, while enhancing the skills of its members through education, networking and community outreach. He has been a member of the SPBCBA's Board of Directors for nearly a decade, following his appointment in 2008. He first joined the SPBCBA in 2005.
For more than 20 years, Gordon has devoted his practice to representing employers in labor and employment matters across a diverse range of sectors, including telecommunications, hospitality, healthcare, retail, and financial services. His work has earned him recognition among The Best Lawyers in America for Employment Law and Florida’s Super Lawyers for Employment & Labor and Business Litigation.
A recognized leader and client advocate, Gordon oversees the delivery of labor and employment services to Akerman clients nationwide. Prior to leading the firm's Labor & Employment Practice Group, he was the office managing partner of Akerman's Palm Beach County offices. He formerly served on the Board of Directors for the Economic Council of Palm Beach County, the Education Foundation of Palm Beach County, and as a trustee for the Greater Boca Raton Chamber of Commerce. He also is a past president of the Human Resource Association of Palm Beach County.
