The City of Wilton Manors is Celebrating Pride Month with 2017 Stonewall Parade and Festival

For the 17th consecutive year, the City of Wilton Manors will host the largest LGBT pride event in the greater Fort Lauderdale area.  With more than 40,000 festival-goers from across the U.S. expected to attend, the 2017 Stonewall Parade and Festival on Saturday, June 17, 2017 promises to be the most anticipated event of the year.

“Stonewall is about equality and pride, and these values represent the City of Wilton Manors,” said Mayor Gary Resnick. “We’re excited to be once again hosting this one-of-a-kind annual parade and festival commemorating one of the most impactful events in LGBT history.”

Four stages will feature live music, DJs and local performers throughout the day, and MIA 93.9 FM and Y100 Miami will be on site, as well as NBC 6.

The annual Stonewall Parade and Street Festival, that commemorates the 1969 Stonewall Riots, will take place along Wilton Drive. At 3 p.m. the street festival and marketplace will open along the Drive extending from Five Points/NE 26th Street to NE 20th Street, just north of Fort Lauderdale High School. More than 100 vendors, exhibitors and food trucks will be present, which will provide fun for the who family. Then at 4 p.m., the much-anticipated Stonewall Parade will travel down the north side of Wilton Drive.

“The City of Wilton Manors is a strong, resilient community that continues to be a steadfast leader for the nation’s LGBTQ population and equality for all,” said Mayor Resnick.
