Bilzin Sumberg Baena Price & Axelrod is pleased to announce Scott L. Baena has been elected without opposition to a three-year term as an At-Large Director of the Board of Directors for the Dade County Bar Association (DCBA). The DCBA is the largest voluntary bar association in Florida.

Scott, a founding partner of Bilzin Sumberg, has been recognized throughout the community for his strong business acumen and leadership. In October 2016, he was appointed by the DCBA to a three-year term on the Board of Directors for Legal Services of Greater Miami, Inc.

Scott is serving a five-year term on The Florida Board of Bar Examiners after his appointment by the Florida Supreme Court in 2014. The Board is an administrative agency of the Florida Supreme Court that coordinates and supervises bar admission in the State of Florida. Additionally, Scott sits on the Board of Directors for the Greater Miami Jewish Federation and was the recipient of the 2016 Jurisprudence Award from the Anti-Defamation League.

Scott is an accomplished bankruptcy trial and restructuring attorney. Over the past four decades he has counseled high-visibility clients in some of the largest and most complex bankruptcy proceedings throughout the country. Scott also oversees several Firm-wide initiatives, including client satisfaction, and business and professional development.
