The Top Five Condos to Pay Attention to in 2017

5/5/17

The age of the luxury condo is upon us, and New York City is at the forefront of this high-end expansion. Every month more impressive structures rise up to meet the Manhattan sky and take their place in the iconic cityscape. Even within the upper echelon, not all condos are created equal. Here are five of our favorites to watch for in 2017:

The Carlton House

Located in Manhattan’s storied Upper East Side, The Carlton House features beautiful residences (in either pearl or mink color palettes) courtesy of Katherine Newman Design. They are large with open floor plans and entirely flooded with natural light. There’s a sophisticated mixture to the overall aesthetic, it’s certainly contemporary, but it has a certain organic feel as well. The bright, brick and limestone exterior is equally as stunning as the interior and amenities include an indoor swimming pool, a high-end fitness center, steam rooms and a game room. The Carlton is set to be the Upper East Side’s newest gem.

88 and 90 Lex

88 and 90 Lex is one of the most unique pairings in the entire city. 88 Lex (built in 1927) has a decidedly more classic NYC look, and it’s considerably taller than 90 Lex (built in 1958), which has a sleeker more modern feel. The two buildings are currently saying their vows to be committed to one another in luxury condominium bliss. Residents of these massive apartments filled with high-end appliances and featuring expansive views of Midtown Manhattan, will also enjoy 24-hour concierge service, a private cinema, a fitness center, a billiards room, a children’s game room and a 60-ft swimming pool. It’s basically an all-inclusive resort at home.

180 E 88th St.

Another Upper East Side stunner, 180 E 88th features a jaw-droppingly vibrant exterior featuring Kolumba brick crafted by Petersen Tegl. The building is undoubtedly modern, but there is an old-world, pre-war charm to the design. The residences are absolutely massive and feature high-ceilings and enormous windows punctuated by traditional design elements. There’s also a wine room, a children’s play room, a game room, a half basketball court and a full fitness center with a yoga studio.

535 W 43

535 W 43rd is set on it’s way to being the most impressive buildings in Hell’s Kitchen. It has two large rooftop gardens that provide far-reaching views of Manhattan and the Hudson River. One is designed for uninterrupted, noise-free lounging, while the other contains four separate, outdoor kitchens, making it the premiere dinner party destination on a nice night. In addition to the rooftop gardens there’s courtyard gardens for relaxing on the ground floor. as well as a lounge, a game room, a fitness center with a yoga room, a sound-proofed media room and a pet spa. Yes, a pet spa. How great is that?

The Noma

Located, perhaps unsurprisingly, in the hip NoMad neighborhood of Manhattan, The Noma rises 24 shimmering stories above the streets, defined by a eye-catching exterior of glass and brick. The residences are expansive and feature floor-to-ceiling windows, high-end modern kitchens, and many will have balconies. There is a brilliant, huge, 125 ft wide landscaped terrace for residents, a serene library with it’s own terrace and a large, sun-drenched fitness center. Can’t beat getting some vitamin D while on the treadmill.
