Walter Campbell Honored By In Jacob’s Shoes For His Unending Support Of The Community

Walter “Skip” Campbell, Mayor of Coral Springs and partner at the law firm of Krupnick Campbell Malone Buser Slama Hancock & Liberman, was honored by the non-profit public charity In Jacob’s Shoes with the Community Leadership Award at the organization’s 7th Annual Celebration "Every Sole Counts."

In Jacob’s Shoes provides new and gently used shoes, backpacks, school supplies and athletic gear to South Florida children in need and also provides grants for camp, aftercare, sports and enrichment programs. The organization’s mission is to provide these children the opportunity to walk with pride and go to school or play sports with dignity.  

“I am humbled to receive this recognition, and proud to be associated with In Jacob’s Shoes, an organization that does so much for the community,” said Campbell.  The Jacob S. Zweig Foundation, Inc. was formed in honor of the life of Jacob S. Zweig who was tragically killed at the age of seventeen.  In Jacob’s Shoes, as the Foundation is known, was formed in 2009 to honor Jacob’s legacy.

Campbell is no stranger to awards   He is a known leader within the legal profession and has served as President of the Broward County Bar Association, President of the Broward County Justice Association and President of the Federal Bar Association of Broward County. He was elected to the Board of Governors of The Florida Bar and was the recipient of The Florida Bar Meritorious Service Award.  

He is a Founding Fellow and has served as a member of the Board of Governors of the Southern Trial Lawyers and a Diplomat of the Florida Justice Association. He is a sustaining member of the American Association For Justice, a Founding Sponsor of the Civil Justice Foundation and a Founding Member of the Trial Lawyers for Public Justice.

In 1996, Campbell was elected to the Florida Senate, where he proudly served the communities of the western portions of central and northern Broward County.  In 2014, he was elected Mayor of Coral Springs.  His dedication to his community is evidenced by his civic and charitable involvement. Campbell has received numerous awards for his civic, professional, and legislative efforts including the Hope Award of the National Multiple Sclerosis Society, the Distinguished Community Service Award of the B'nai B'rith Anti-Defamation League of Coral Springs/Parkland, the VALOR award from the American Diabetes Association, and the Outstanding Senator Award from the Florida Justice Association.
