Orlando Economic Partnership To Honor William T. Dymond, Jr. At Annual Award Dinner

The award, which was first presented in 1990, recognizes individuals who have contributed substantially to the economic prosperity of the region. Dymond currently serves on the Executive Committee and Board of Directors of the Orlando EP. He also chairs the entity’s Economic Strategy Committee and previously served as co-chair of the Investor Relations and Business Development Committees. A long-time supporter of civic and charitable organizations, Dymond has served as a Board and Executive Committee Member of Enterprise Florida which promotes economic development statewide.

Appointed by Governor Scott, Dymond is currently in his fourth year serving as the chair of Space Florida’s Board of Directors. The organization, which serves as the state's aerospace and spaceport development authority, has partnered with NASA to operate Kennedy Space Center and expanded the state's ability to dominate the growing commercial space market while creating jobs in this unique sector.

As the past chair of Florida Citrus Sports, Dymond has been instrumental in a number of initiatives in the sports industry, including a leading role in securing the renovation improvements to the Camping World Stadium. The investment has attracted world-class entertainment and sports, including the Rolling Stones and this year’s NFL Pro Bowl. Dymond also served as the lead negotiator in securing multi-year television agreements with ABC and ESPN for the Capital One Bowl/Buffalo Wild Wings Citrus Bowl, Champs Sports Bowl/Russell Athletic Bowl, and team selection agreements with the Big 10, SEC, ACC, Big East and Big 12 conferences – all big wins for Central Florida. Dymond is also a co-founding Board Member of LIFT Orlando, a nonprofit organization comprised of business leaders partnering with residents to accelerate community transformation and to break the cycle of poverty through holistic neighborhood revitalization in the shadow of the Camping World Stadium.

Additionally, Dymond serves as the General Counsel to Visit Orlando and sits on its Executive Committee and Board of Directors in that role He recently was honored for eight years of service as a board member and chair of the City of Orlando’s Downtown Development Board and the Community Redevelopment Agency Advisory Board. Dymond’s service to community includes charitable organizations as well, such as Morningstar Charities, Heart of Florida United Way and American Diabetes Association’s Father of the Year Council, among others.

Alongside Dymond, Steve Hogan, CEO of Florida Citrus Sports, will be the recipient of the 2017 Chairman’s Award.

In addition to serving as President and CEO at the firm, Dymond counsels and advises his clients on the legal issues surrounding the hotel, resort and general leisure industry. He has extensive experience in all aspects of real estate transactions, including development, leasing and financing. Dymond also has a passion for the business of sports and related legal issues.
