Elaine Bucher

Gunster, one of Florida’s oldest and largest full-service business law firms, is pleased to announce that Gunster shareholder Elaine Bucher has been elected to the board of regents of the American College of Trust and Estate Counsel.

Elaine Bucher is a trusts and estates attorney who works out of Gunster’s Boca Raton and West Palm Beach offices. She also serves on the firm’s board of directors.

Bucher was voted onto the board at the 50th annual meeting of the ACTEC board on March 12, 2017, in Scottsdale, Arizona. The board of regents is the governing body of ACTEC and consists of just 39 members.

ACTEC is an invitation-only nonprofit association of lawyers and law professionals skilled and experienced in the area of trusts and estates. It is comprised of approximately 2,500 trusts and estates lawyers from all 50 U.S. states and several countries.

Gunster’s private wealth services law practice currently has a total of 6 ACTEC fellows: Debra L. Boje, Elaine Bucher, William T. Hennessey, Thomas M. Karr, John C. Moran and Michael D. Simon. There are approximately 130 ACTEC fellows in Florida. Gunster’s private wealth services practice, one of the largest in the state, has more ACTEC fellows than any other Florida-only firm.

Bucher also serves on ACTEC’s long-range planning, sponsorship, estate and gift tax and asset protection committees and is on the board of directors of the ACTEC Foundation.

Bucher focuses her law practice on sophisticated estate planning, estate and trust administration and fiduciary litigation. She represents clients with complicated and sensitive family situations, and has written and lectured extensively on estate planning for second marriages and blended families.
