Palmer Trinity School's (PTS) Spanish team, Los Halcones, in English the falcons, took first place in this year’s Florida State Spanish Conference held on March 9–11 at the Wyndham Orlando Resort. The three-day academic competition for students studying Spanish included impromptu speeches, poetry declamation, and drama presentations as well as non-academic entertainment competitions including vocal, dance and instrumental.

PTS students competed in Division II for teams with 30 percent or more of students having in-depth exposure to Spanish outside the classroom. As a team, PTS won the first-place trophy in categories 1A, 2A, 3A, and 4A.
