City National Bank, the premier private and commercial bank in Florida, announced that Louis M. Ferreira has been named EVP and Chief Enterprise Risk Executive. Located in the bank’s Flagler office, Ferreira will oversee the Enterprise Risk Division and will have supervisory responsibilities for several teams, including Compliance and Operational Risk, BSA/AML, Loan Review as well as Security.

Prior to joining CNB, Ferreira served as Executive Vice President, Chief Credit and Risk Officer with Banesco USA. In this role, he worked with the bank’s Board developing and implementing both credit and risk management policies. In addition, Ferreira worked with the Office of the Comptroller of the Currency (OCC), a division of the U.S. Department of Treasury, as a National Bank Examiner, responsible for examining large or problematic banks in both the Florida and New York markets. Specializing in credit and BSA/AML compliance examination areas, Ferreira was the Chairman of the OCC’s Southern District BSA/AML Working Group and a member of the agency’s Foreign Technical Assistant Cadre for Compliance matters.

Ferreira is a Commissioned National Bank Examiner through the U.S. Department of Treasury, a Certified Anti-Money Laundering Specialist and a Certified International Risk Manager. He received his bachelor’s degree from Rutgers University and completed a Corporate Governance and Performance Program from Yale University. Ferreira is also an adjunct lecturer, at Florida International University- College of Law, in Miami, Florida.
