Members of the Broward Performing Arts Foundation’s Founders’ Club were entertained at a reception in their honor at the beautiful Las Olas Isles home of Barbara and Michael Landry. The couple own The Pillars, the luxury boutique hotel on the intracoastal which was recognized by the Condé Nast Traveler Gold List as one of “the world’s best places to stay” and was also ranked in the Top 50 Small Hotels in Condé Nast’s Readers’ Choice Awards.

The Robert B. Lochrie, Jr. Founders’ Club, also known as “Buddy’s Club,” is named for the founding chairman of the Broward Performing Arts Foundation. Robert B. Lochrie, III, the current chair of the Foundation Board of Directors, spoke of his father’s legacy and expressed his pleasure at seeing such a dedicated group of supporters in attendance. The Founders’ Club is the premier membership level at the Broward Center, reserved for those benefactors who have reached a cumulative giving level of $100,000 and who make annual contributions of $5,000 or more.

During the reception, guests also were treated to a musical performance of “Kiss the Girl” and “Part of Your World” by Diana Huey and Melvin Abston, who appeared in Disney’s The Little Mermaid as Ariel and Sebastian. The musical was part of the 2016-2017 Bank of America Broadway in Fort Lauderdale season at the Broward Center.
