MCM Celebrates Grand Opening of New Homestead Police Station

The MCM Team

On February 25, MCM (Munilla Construction Management) celebrated the grand opening of one of its revitalization projects, the new Homestead Police Station, which was previously headquartered in a decaying, mold-infested building built in the early 1900s. Designed by Rodriguez & Quiroga Architects, the 55,000 square-foot, three-story facility constructed specifically for law enforcement operations was erected in a five-acre parcel located behind Losner Park in the city’s historic downtown.

At the grand opening event, guests enjoyed a community parade featuring marching bands and performances by local schools such as Homestead Senior High and South Dade High School; local government officials such as Senator Anitere Flores and Mayor Jeff Porter; MCM’s President, Jorge Munilla, and project manager, Juan Campos; and, Homestead Police Chief Al Rolle who was supported by the entire Homestead police force and his son, former NFL star, Antrel Rolle. Guests also participated in a meet and greet with the police officers, grooved to live musical performances and indulged in complimentary refreshments.

Serving as a safe and healthy environment for its officers, the new headquarters is open for business and is also Green Globes Certified, meaning the facility participated in sustainable practices in project management, site selection, energy conservation, water usage, materials selection, and indoor air.

The new Homestead Police Station is located at 45 NW 1st Avenue, Homestead, FL 33030.
