Elia Nunez to Manage Planning for Transit and Public Works Projects for WSP | Parsons Brinckerhoff

Elia Nunez has been named an assistant vice president in the Miami office of WSP | Parsons Brinckerhoff, a global engineering and professional services organization.

In her new position, Ms. Nunez will be responsible for management of capital improvement planning fortransit agencies and public works departments, with a focus on public works projects. In this role, she will advise WSP | Parsons Brinckerhoff clients on establishing short- and long-range plans for transportation systems. She will oversee project development, tracking, budgets and contracts for public transit and multimodal programs.

Ms. Nunez has 16 years of civil engineering experience, managing architectural and engineering projects for state, county and municipal agencies as well as private sector clients. Her experience includes major projects involving the design and construction management of roadways, water distribution and sewer collection systems, and storm water management systems.

Prior to joining WSP | Parsons Brinckerhoff, Ms. Nunez was director of public works for the Town of Miami Lakes. She also served as chief design project manager for the City of Miami, responsible for the management, direction and administration of design staff in overseeing the work of architectural and engineering consultants in the design of city projects.

A licensed professional engineer in Florida, Ms. Nunez earned a bachelor of science degree in civil engineering from University of Miami. Among her professional affiliations, she is member of the American Society of Civil Engineers, the American Public Works Association, the Florida Engineering Society, and the Women’s Transportation Seminar.
