Bilzin Sumberg Announces Partner Promotions

Bilzin Sumberg is pleased to announce three attorneys have been elected to the Firm's partnership. Effective January 1, 2017, Tax & Estate Planning attorney Mildred Gomez, Litigation attorney Lori Lustrin, and Real Estate attorney Phillip S. Sosnow will become the Firm's newest partners.

Mildred Gomez

Mildred Gomez represents domestic and international high-net-worth individuals in estate and tax planning as well as probate and trust administration. Mildred volunteers with the Mexican Chamber of Commerce on a panel called Integrate, which helps Latin American women adapt to life in the U.S. by showing them how to make smart financial decisions. Mildred is a member of the American Bar Association's Real Property, Trust & Estate Section. She is also a member of the Professional Advisory Committee for the United Way of Miami-Dade. Mildred earned bachelor's, master's, and law degrees from the University of Florida, and a Master of Laws in Estate Planning from the University of Miami School of Law. Mildred is a native Spanish speaker.

Lori Lustrin

Lori is a general commercial litigator who focuses on complex class-action and plaintiff opt-out antitrust litigation in federal court. In addition to antitrust work, her class action experience includes defending clients in the consumer products, homebuilding, real estate investment, and food and beverage industries. Lori is Vice Chair of the American Bar Association's Young Lawyers Division Antitrust Law Committee. She is a mentor for the Law School Mentoring Project and a member of the Special Olympics' Executive Committee. Lori was named the Daily Business Review's Most Effective Lawyer for Corporate Securities in 2014 and was a Most Effective Lawyer finalist in 2016 for Complex/Business Litigation. She has been named a Rising Star by Florida Super Lawyers every year since 2013. Lori received her bachelor's degree from Brandeis University and her law degree from the University of Florida.

Phillip S. Sosnow

Phillip focuses his practice on commercial real estate acquisitions and dispositions, development, and leasing. He represents lenders and borrowers in complex financing involving commercial mortgage-backed securities, mezzanine loans, and loan restructurings. Phillip was selected as one of the Daily Business Review's Top Dealmakers of the Year in the Hotel category for 2016. Phillip won the award for his leadership of a Bilzin Sumberg team that completed the acquisition and financing of the Holiday Inn Downtown Miami. Phillip is a member of the CRE Finance Council Young Professionals, Young Israel of Greater Miami Executive Committee, and Chevra Kadisha of South Florida. For The Florida Bar, Phillip is a Member of the Young Lawyers Division and the Real Property, Probate & Trust Law Section. Phillip obtained his bachelor's degree from Touro College and his law degree from Fordham University.
