Turnaround & Workouts, a leading resource for professionals tracking distressed businesses, has named Development Specialists Inc. (DSI) as an Outstanding Turnaround Firm for 2016.  This national trade newsletter considers hundreds of firms for this honor annually, but only selects 12.   

This year, DSI has served as Chief Restructuring Officer in the Aéropostale Chapter 11 Bankruptcy, Trustee of the Corinthian College Student Trust, Assignee for Marinello Schools of Beauty, financial advisor for the Examiner in the Zucker Goldberg & Ackerman Chapter 11, Chief Restructuring Officer and Plan Administrator for Binder & Binder, Assignee for Vertical Recovery Management, advisor to UCC’s in Yellow Cab cases, and Chief Restructuring Officer for the Chapter 11 involving LB Steel.  Additionally, a member of the firm was just appointed the Trustee in the Southern District of New York for the large, cross-national insolvency matter of China Fishery Group Limited (Cayman), et al., which will involve operations in Peru, as well as case venues in New York, Singapore, Hong Kong, Lima, the British Virgin Islands and Frankfurt.

The following DSI professionals were singled out for their work on those cases:  William A. Brandt, Jr., Fred C. Caruso, Patrick J. O’Malley, and Steve Victor from the Chicago office; Joseph J. Luzinski and Yale S. Bogen from the South Florida office located in Ft. Lauderdale; Geoffrey L. Berman, R. Brian Calvert, and Bradley D. Sharp from the Los Angeles office; and Kyle Everett from the San Francisco office.

This is the 11th time DSI has been named an Outstanding Turnaround Firm.
