JACKSONVILLE, Fla.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Acosta, a full-service sales and marketing agency in the consumer packaged goods (CPG) industry, announced today that it has appointed Steve Matthesen as President and Chief Executive Officer. Matthesen, with more than 20 years of experience in consumer data, analytics, business strategy and operations, joins Acosta from The Nielsen Company, where he most recently served as President of Global Retail, responsible for leading Nielsen’s retailer relationships in more than 100 countries around the world.

Prior to joining Nielsen — a leading global information and measurement company — Matthesen was a partner at The Boston Consulting Group where he collaborated with leading CPG companies to develop and execute growth strategies. He also served in the U.S. Air Force at the Space and Missile Systems Center. Matthesen has an MBA from The Wharton School at the University of Pennsylvania, a master’s degree in computer engineering from the University of Southern California and a Bachelor of Science from Duke University.
Matthesen succeeds current President and CEO Robert Hill, who will become Vice Chair of the Board of Directors, effective Tuesday, Sept. 6, and will continue to work with Acosta’s clients and customers in this new role. Hill has been with the company and industry for more than 30 years, serving in a number of capacities at Acosta since 1994.
