Evelyn & Arthur Elects Adrianne Weissman and Patti Abramson to Board

Adrianne Weissman, President, and Patti Abramson, Special Projects Manager, of Evelyn & Arthur, Palm Beach County’s destination for ageless women’s fashions, have been elected to the Board of Directors for Susan G. Komen South Florida.

The organization, which sees thousands of breast cancer survivors, family members, and supporters running for a cure during Palm Beach County’s largest race raising money to beat breast cancer, is dedicated to combating breast cancer on every front. Over 75% of the funds raised support Komen’s efforts to provide local community grants, community access education, screening and treatment, and also support for life-saving research initiatives that will enable scientists to discover the cures for breast cancer. Komen has been key in helping to fund research, programs and even care that have saved thousands of lives.

Though Weissman is a recent breast cancer survivor, she has been a long-time supporter of women’s health charities, including the Susan G. Komen Race for the Cure, where she served as Vice-Chair, Race Chairman, Volunteer Chair and in other capacities since 2000. Since winning her battle, she helps others who are fighting the disease with heartfelt support, advice and guidance through an ad hoc network that stretches across the U.S. She shares the same hope, direction and information with others that she received during her breast cancer battle, that of which she credits for saving her life and preserving her spirit.

Abramson, also a breast cancer survivor and long time Komen supporter, is excited to further her support by joining the board of directors. Having served as Race Chair in 2010, Registration Chairand co-chair of the Communications Committee, she is dedicated to “getting the word out” about the services and grants that Komen provides locally.

“I am excited and honored to be a part of this incredible board of directors,” said Weissman on this recent appointment. “Putting an end to breast cancer has always been very important to me – even more so now that I beat the disease. In this new role I intend to do even more in the fight and know that one day we will have made breast cancer nonexistent.”
