Todd Templin, executive vice president of BoardroomPR, has been elected to the board of directors for Firewall Centers. He will serve a three-year term.
Firewall Centers is a nonprofit based in Davie that provides one-of-a-kind after-school programming designed to help middle and high school students achieve academic success, build character, and transform into servant leaders. College-aged adults leading daily sessions providing one-on-one tutoring and mentoring.
Firewall Centers runs centers at eight public schools in Broward County and serves more than 350 students. The organization is entirely funded by grants and private donations.
“I am honored to be part of this wonderful organization,” said Templin. “Firewall is not just keeping at-risk kids off the street and out of trouble, but making them better students and better people, and teaching them to serve others before themselves. They also have the means to measure results and demonstrate that what they are doing is working. I look forward to helping raise more money and awareness for Firewall Centers so that they can expand and help even more children.”
Templin has been a public relations/marketing executive for the past 15 years. He chairs the real estate practice group and co-chairs the crisis communications division at BoardroomPR. Prior to starting a career in PR, Templin worked nearly two decades in the television news business as an executive producer and on-air talent. Locally, he worked for WPLG-TV Channel 10 and NBC and ABC news.
Templin graduated with a degree in broadcast journalism from the University of Florida in 1984. He is married with two children and attends St. Paul’s Lutheran Church.
