Mercantil Commercebank's Pedro Parra Named Coral Gables Community Foundation Board Member


Financial professional serves as manager of the Bank’s personal banking and trust division

Mercantil Commercebank, one of the largest banks headquartered in Florida, announced today that Pedro Parra, manager of the Bank’s personal banking and trust division, has been named a Board Member of the Coral Gables Community Foundation.

Parra, who additionally serves as President and CEO of Bank subsidiary Mercantil Commercebank Trust Company N.A., joins 22 other Board Members dedicated to propelling forth the organization’s mission. Founded in 1991 and led by community leaders, nonprofit Coral Gables Community Foundation aims to foster programs and initiatives that enhance the quality of life for people living and working in Coral Gables.

In efforts to support the Coral Gables Community Foundation, Mercantil Commercebank recently donated office space to the organization within the Bank’s longtime Coral Gables headquarters building at 220 Alhambra Circle.

Parra joined Mercantil in 2000. He is a member of the Board of Directors for Mercantil Commercebank Trust Company, N.A.; Mercantil Bank and Trust Limited (Cayman); and Mercantil Commercebank Investment Services, Inc. He earned a bachelor’s degree in law from the Universidad Santa María in Caracas, Venezuela and later earned the National Trust School Diploma through the American Bankers Association at Northwestern University, as well as the STEP Diploma in International Trust Management and several advanced certifications from the Society of Trust and Estate Practitioners (STEP) in the United Kingdom.
