MANATT BROADENS HEALTH EXCHANGE PLATFORM WITH MANAGING DIRECTOR
Health IT Exchange Authority Bolsters Manatt's Healthcare Practice With Deep Industry Experience
NEW YORK - Manatt,Phelps & Phillips LLP announced that Greg DeBor has joined the New York office of the firm as a managing director with Manatt Health Solutions (MHS), the firm's interdisciplinary policy and business advisory division. DeBor joins Manatt from Computer Sciences Corporation (CSC) Healthcare Group where he served as a client partner for health delivery.
While at CSC, Greg drove the launch of the nation's first website for health insurance exchange and reform under Massachusetts' healthcare law on behalf of the state's Commonwealth Health Insurance Connector. Greg was also one of the originators of the New England Healthcare Exchange Network (NEHEN), a leading health information exchange organization. Recognized by the industry for his deep knowledge of electronic health records and healthcare administrative simplification, he has helped leaders in the healthcare industry with health IT interoperability and exchange.
"Greg is widely distinguished as one of the most qualified authorities on health IT accessibility. His deep knowledge and hands-on involvement in the first healthcare exchanges to be developed in this country will prove to be a valuable asset to our healthcare platform as uncertainty surrounding exchanges grips the industry," said William Bernstein, chair of Manatt's Healthcare Division. "A perfect complement to our already extensive knowledge and experience with health policy, DeBor's arrival will allow us to deepen our offering for our clients."
DeBor's arrival comes after another high-profile health exchange authority joined the firm this year. Joel Ario began serving as managing director in January. Prior to joining Manatt, Ario served as director of the Office of Health Insurance Exchanges within HHS.
"Manatt's insurance exchange capabilities are extensive and were extremely attractive to me in choosing the firm," DeBor said. "As shareholders tackle the enormous challenges that establishing insurance exchanges on the state level entails, my colleagues and I at Manatt will be able to quickly adapt and provide valuable counsel to efficiently serve their needs."
A frequent speaker on health IT interoperability and exchanges, DeBor holds a B.A. from Boston University.
